Derek Loseke is currently employed as a Senior Systems Engineer at Kidwell Technologies as an IT professional with over 18 years of experience in Virtualization, Cloud, IT Infrastructure, Data Protection and BCDR. Derek is responsible for pre-sales engineering and project implementation for various SMB clients using product offerings from various best in class vendors including VMware, Microsoft, Dell Technologies & Veeam. He is also responsible for product testing and selection and providing technical training to his team. Derek previously worked at FNTS (formerly First National Technology Solutions), a midwest cloud hosting provider, as Windows Systems Engineer focused on managing and maintaining several VMware clusters on Cisco UCS servers and thousands of Windows Server virtual machines.
Derek participates in the Dell Technologies Heroes program which is focused on Dell Partner enablement and is a member of the Dell Trusted Tester and Beta Tester Plus programs. In 2022, Derek was inducted into the Veeam 100 as a Veeam Legend and is a proud member of the classes of 2022 and 2023. Derek has also received several professional certifications and credentials during his career including the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) certifications.
Derek currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska with his three wonderful children, wife Barb of 17 years, and four mischievous dogs, Cooper, Lulu, Ranger and Jay. Derek’s love of animals began in rural Nebraska where he spent his childhood on the family farm. In his spare time, he has volunteered with several local animal rescue’s with his wife, and have fostered over 30 dogs and worked to help save countless more lives since 2019. Derek is also a General Class licensed Amateur Radio Operator under the callsign KD0INN, and volunteers with Heartland READY, an Omaha metro nonprofit that dedicates itself in providing emergency communications services during severe weather and for community events.
